Kalavryta- The rack railway, the trees and good company - 4 days

Arrival at your hotel and free time.

Start with a good breakfast early, around 7.00 am and drive to Zachlorou (it's only 15 minutes). Park there. Two routes to choose from:

Route 1: Zachlorou - Diakofto descent on foot and return with the Rack Railway

A) This route is suitable for children from 9 years old and lasts 4 hours. It is better to start early to be in Diakofto around 13.30. The train leaves from Diakofto to Zachlorou at 14.05. It is a route a bit demanding but with wonderful landscapes.

Route 2: Zachlorou - Black Cave on foot, Zachlorou - Diakofto with the Rack Railway and back

B) Alternatively you can walk from Zachlorou to the Great Cave, the Monastery of Ag. Lavras and back to Zachlorou (this route is easy and suitable for families with children younger than 9 years old, it lasts 3 hours in total). Afterwards you can take the Rack Railway to cross the gorge.

Either walk in the morning and when you return you take the train from Zachlorou to Diakofto. The train has two departures from Zachlorou.

It departs from Zachlorou at 10.39 (arrival in Diakofto at 11.24) or at 13.05 (arrival at 13.53). The return from Diakofto is always one at 14.05 (arrival in Zachlorou at 14.52).

-Either after arriving in Zachlorou at 14.52 you can do the route Zachlorou - Mega Spilaio and back.

Activity: Visit to the "Cave of Lakes"

Remarkably impressive the "Cave of Lakes" has something exclusively of its own that doesn't exist in other caves. Small or large lakes, 13 in total, succeeding each other, colors that vary depending on the rocks and of course wonderful stalactite and stalagmite formations. Inside the cave we all have the opportunity to feel the coolness and happiness of the Earth.
