I have include more hikes and more days for this trip. This is my suggestion for those who desire to walk and enjoy the island in a different manner,
Transfer to hotel. If arriving with an early ferry, then there is time for swimming and the possibility to visit Aegina's archaeological sites.
Route 1: Agios Nektarios - Agia Marina
The route is neither demanding nor long. Good sense of orientation and use of the instructions from the app is needed. From Agios Nectarios through the paths explore Paleochora with all its churches. Then head to Mesagro: a route with excellent views and dense pine forest. Reach the monastery of Agios Minas from where the seaside village of Ag. Marina is at sight. The road to Ag. Marina is quiet. Pass first the temple of Aphaia, from there a wide path leads to the beach of Agia Marina. What a great place swimming!
You can return to Aegina by taxi or by by public bus.
Total hiking distance: 10 km
PS: If you do not want to walk the route from Ag. Nektarios to Messagros, you can start from Mesagros and walk to Ag. Marina.

Route 2: Perdika - Marathonas Beach
The whole walk includes an optional route to the highest peak of Aegina where you have a privileged view of the island and the Peloponnese, the mainland and the islands of the Saronic Gulf. If the ascent seems demanding, skip it and head after 4 km to ancient Eleonas.
A little further out of Perdika in the village of Sfentouri start the ascending course and follow the path through the meadows and go up to the top. Keep in mind that from there, after passing the valley of Eleonas, a dirt road starts that leads to Marathonas beach. One of the most beautiful beaches of Aegina.
You can return to Aegina by taxi or by by public bus.
Total hiking route 7 km or 10 km
Route 3 - Cycling to Perdika and back

The first section crosses a quiet road parallel to the coastline and so it continues to the fishing village of Perdika. You take a break at Perdika for a coffee and you go back again. On Aegina take the public bus for the suggested ride. It may not have frequent buses but they are punctual.
